CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: mac80211: bounds-check link_id in ieee80211_ml_epcs
IEEE80211_MLE_STA_EPCS_CONTROL_LINK_ID is 0x000f, so link_id extracted
from a PRIO_ACCESS ML element PER_STA_PROFILE subelement can be 0..15.
sdata->link[] has IEEE80211_MLD_MAX_NUM_LINKS (15) entries (indices 0..14),
making index 15 out-of-bounds.
A connected WiFi 7 AP can trigger this by sending an EPCS Enable Response
action frame with a PER_STA_PROFILE subelement where link_id = 15. The
unsolicited-notification path (dialog_token = 0) is reachable any time
EPCS is already enabled, without any prior client request.
sdata->link[15] reads into the first word of sdata->activate_links_work
(a wiphy_work whose embedded list_head is non-NULL after INIT_LIST_HEAD),
so the NULL check on the result does not catch the invalid access. The
garbage pointer is then passed to ieee80211_sta_wmm_params(), which
dereferences link->sdata and crashes the kernel.
The same class of bug was fixed for ieee80211_ml_reconfiguration() by
commit 162d331d833d ("wifi: mac80211: bounds-check link_id in
ieee80211_ml_reconfiguration"). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tracing: Avoid NULL return from hist_field_name() on truncation
hist_field_name() returns "" everywhere except the fully-qualified
VAR_REF/EXPR case, where snprintf() truncation returns NULL early
and bypasses the bottom NULL->"" guard. Callers don't expect NULL:
strcat(expr, hist_field_name(field, 0)) at trace_events_hist.c:1758
and the strcmp() in the sort-key match loop at :4804 both deref it.
system and event_name are bounded by MAX_EVENT_NAME_LEN, but the
field name on a VAR_REF is kstrdup'd from a histogram variable
name parsed out of the trigger string and has no length cap, so
a long enough var name in a fully qualified reference can reach
the truncation path.
Keep the length check but leave field_name as "" on overflow. |
| Excelize is a Go language library for reading and writing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. From 2.9.0 to 2.11.0, GetSlicers checks for ExtLst but dereferences ws.Drawing without checking whether the independently optional drawing element exists. File.GetSlicers reads ws.Drawing.RID after seeing a worksheet extLst element even when the independently optional worksheet drawing element is absent. When a crafted worksheet contains an extLst element without a drawing element and the application calls GetSlicers, the nil ws.Drawing pointer is dereferenced while resolving the drawing relationship, allowing an attacker to panic and terminate an unprotected process. No fixed version is available as of this review. |
| Excelize is a Go language library for reading and writing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. From 2.7.0 to 2.11.0, conditional-format extraction indexes required child slices or dereferences an optional colorScale child without validating malformed rule structure. GetConditionalFormats reaches extractCondFmtCellIs and also indexes ColorScale.Cfvo, DataBar.Cfvo, and DataBar.Color without complete structural checks. When a crafted worksheet supplies a cellIs, dataBar, or colorScale rule missing expected children and the application calls GetConditionalFormats, missing formula, color, value-object, or colorScale data reaches an out-of-range index or nil dereference, allowing an attacker to panic and terminate an unprotected process. No fixed version is available as of this review. |
| A weakness has been identified in Wavlink WL-WN592AX6 250422. Affected by this issue is the function main of the file /cgi-bin/upload.cgi. This manipulation of the argument Cookie causes null pointer dereference. The attack is possible to be carried out remotely. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be used for attacks. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure. |
| yt-dlp-web-ui through 4.0.0 contains a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the Service.Formats JSON-RPC method that allows remote unauthenticated attackers to crash the server. Attackers can send a single request with a url value like --version, causing invalid yt-dlp JSON output and an unrecovered panic that terminates the process. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/sched: sch_sfb: Replace direct dequeue call with peek and qdisc_dequeue_peeked
When sfb has children (eg qfq qdisc) whose peek() callback is
qdisc_peek_dequeued(), we could get a kernel panic. When the parent of such
qdiscs (eg illustrated in patch #3 as tbf) wants to retrieve an skb from
its child (sfb in this case), it will do the following:
1a. do a peek() - and when sensing there's an skb the child can offer, then
- the child in this case(sfb) calls its child's (qfq) peek.
qfq does the right thing and will return the gso_skb queue packet.
Note: if there wasnt a gso_skb entry then qfq will store it there.
1b. invoke a dequeue() on the child (sfb). And herein lies the problem.
- sfb will call the child's dequeue() which will essentially just
try to grab something of qfq's queue.

The right thing to do in #1b is to grab the skb off gso_skb queue.
This patchset fixes that issue by changing #1b to use qdisc_dequeue_peeked()
method instead. |
| FreeRDP 2.3.0 before 3.32.0 dereferences a NULL stream in rdg_process_close_packet in libfreerdp/core/gateway/rdg.c because rdg_process_control_packet accepts a header-only PKT_TYPE_CLOSE_CHANNEL packet and passes the null payload without a check. A malicious or compromised RD Gateway can send an eight-byte CLOSE_CHANNEL header to crash a connecting FreeRDP client. |
| FreeRDP 3.27.1 before 3.32.0 contains a NULL pointer dereference in update_read_cache_bitmap_v3_order() in libfreerdp/core/orders.c, which accesses the client bitmap cache when the CBR3_DO_NOT_CACHE flag is set, even though the cache is not yet initialized before Demand Active. A malicious or compromised RDP server can send a Cache Bitmap V3 order during connection setup to crash a connecting client that has enabled the non-default Bitmap Cache V3 feature (/cache:codec:<rfx|nsc|jpeg>). |
| FreeRDP 3.0.0-beta4 before 3.32.0 contains a NULL pointer dereference in arm_handle_request_ok when an ARM endpoint returns an empty HTTP 200 body. Attackers controlling the configured ARM gateway can return a zero-length body to pass NULL to strnlen and crash the connecting client. |
| FreeRDP from 3.9.0 before 3.32.0 contains a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the RDPEAR NDR reader that allows malicious servers to crash clients via truncated KERB_RPC_INTERNAL_NAME data. Attackers can send a CreateApReqAuthenticatorReq with NameCount of two or more ending before the Names pointer, causing cleanup to dereference a null base and terminate the client. |
| A flaw was found in CUPS. When processing embedded job ticket comments within documents, the service improperly handles specific IPP attributes, causing an unhandled null pointer dereference. An unauthenticated attacker permitted to submit jobs to a shared printer queue can send a crafted Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) request to crash the print daemon, resulting in a temporary Denial of Service (DoS) for all printing services. |
| ImageMagick 7.1.0-20 before 7.1.2-32 contains a use after free vulnerability in the -fx option that occurs when a memory allocation fails during a specific operation. Attackers who can supply crafted -fx expressions under memory pressure can trigger freed memory access, causing crashes or memory corruption. |
| ImageMagick 7.1.0-20 before 7.1.2-32 contains an invalid memory free vulnerability in the fx operation that occurs when initialization of an FX runtime entry fails. Attackers can trigger the failed FX runtime initialization to cause an invalid free, resulting in memory corruption and application crashes. |
| ImageMagick 7.1.1-31 before 7.1.2-32 contains a NULL pointer dereference in the PostScript decoder that is triggered when a policy limit is reached. Attackers can supply a crafted PostScript file for processing to crash the application, causing a denial of service. |
| FreeRDP before 3.32.0 contains a NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the client video redirection channel that allows malicious servers to crash clients by sending out-of-order messages. Attackers can send a Geometry CLEAR message that nulls presentation->geometry, then send VideoData that dereferences it, causing client denial of service. |
| i2s_esp32_trigger_check() in drivers/i2s/i2s_esp32.c validates the requested direction only for I2S_DIR_BOTH. The I2S_DIR_RX and I2S_DIR_TX branches read dev_cfg->rx.data->configured / dev_cfg->tx.data->configured without first checking the stream pointers. The device instantiation macro I2S_ESP32_STREAM_INIT() sets both .conf and .data to NULL for a direction the devicetree does not describe, so on an instance that wires only one direction — the normal shape for audio output or a worldsemi,ws2812-i2s LED strip — the other direction dereferences a NULL pointer instead of returning an error.
i2s_trigger() is a Zephyr syscall, and z_vrfy_i2s_trigger() in drivers/i2s/i2s_handlers.c validates only the device object and the presence of the trigger API pointer; the dir argument is passed to the driver unvalidated. On a build with CONFIG_USERSPACE enabled, a user-mode thread that has been granted the I2S device can issue a single i2s_trigger() call naming the unwired direction and cause a load from address 0 in kernel mode. Among the Espressif parts that carry this driver, userspace is available in-tree only on RISC-V SoCs with CONFIG_RISCV_PMP, and v4.4.0 is the first release where that is buildable: the ESP32-C6 HPCORE selects RISCV_PMP when it is not built for MCUboot. ESP32-C5 in v4.4.x carries the same PMP-region and userspace linker support but does not select RISCV_PMP by default. Espressif Xtensa targets do not support Zephyr userspace, and in a non-userspace build the bad direction can only come from in-kernel application code.
The impact is limited to availability: the access is a read at offset 0 of the missing stream structure, so there is no attacker-controlled offset, no write primitive and no information disclosure. With the default fatal-error handler the resulting exception halts the system, giving an unprivileged user-mode thread a system-wide denial of service. The fix adds the same pointer check the I2S_DIR_BOTH branch already performed and returns -ENOSYS for a direction the instance does not implement; the driver's other entry points (i2s_esp32_config_check(), i2s_esp32_config_get(), i2s_esp32_read(), i2s_esp32_write()) already guarded the pointers, and a static audit found no equivalent unguarded path.
The driver defect is older than the affected range. The unguarded dereference is present from v4.2.0 (reached through i2s_esp32_trigger_stream(), whose if (stream) guard tests the address of a struct member and is never false) and takes its present i2s_esp32_trigger_check() form in v4.3.0. No in-tree Espressif configuration before v4.4.0 can run a user-mode thread, so in v4.2.x and v4.3.x the direction argument can only come from trusted kernel code. Those releases carry the bug but are not listed as affected; the fix has also been merged to v4.3-branch as hardening. |
| IBM DataPower Gateway 10.5.0.0 through 10.5.0.22, 10.6.1 through 10.6.6, 10.6.0.0 through 10.6.0.10, and 11.0.0.0 through 11.0.0.2 could allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service due to a null pointer dereference. |
| A flaw was found in m17n-lib. An attacker could provide specially crafted or truncated UTF-8 input to trigger an unhandled null pointer dereference during text processing. This issue causes the application to crash unexpectedly, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mips: select CONFIG_WEAK_REORDERING_BEYOND_LLSC from CONFIG_EYEQ
On I6500 CPU cores, lld and scd give no ordering guarantees (same as all
other instructions). To respect the assumption that arch_cmpxchg() is
fully ordered, we must inject sync instructions above and below our
lld/scd loops using the already in place WEAK_REORDERING_BEYOND_LLSC
infrastructure.
Otherwise, bad things can happen:

reproducer would be an lld/scd loop that, when the read is reordered by
the CPU, triggers a fault. We can achieve this from userspace by
stressing an anonymous pipe, which uses a mutex. Program used:
