| Use of externally-controlled format string in Windows NTFS allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| Use of externally-controlled format string in Windows Image Acquisition allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| FreeRDP before 3.32.0 contains a double-free vulnerability in nsc_context_initialize_encode() that leaves dangling plane pointers after a partial buffer growth failure. Attackers using a crafted RDP client can negotiate NSCodec with a large desktop geometry to trigger allocation failure, crashing the server during context teardown. |
| OpenPrinting CUPS before 2.4.20 contains a double-free in printer-class management. When CUPS-Add-Modify-Class replaces an existing class member list, add_class() frees pclass->printers without clearing the pointer. If subsequent validation fails, the class retains the dangling pointer; CUPS-Delete-Class subsequently frees the same allocation in cupsdDeletePrinter(). A client authorized to modify and delete classes can cause scheduler-wide denial of service. The default policy requires @SYSTEM privileges. |
| Xerial snappy-java from 1.1.7.4 before 1.1.10.10 contains a double release vulnerability in SnappyFramedInputStream that returns pooled buffers twice when replacement allocation fails. Attackers can supply framed data with a large declared chunk length to trigger OutOfMemoryError, causing shared backing arrays that expose or overwrite other streams' decompressed data. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: iwlegacy: fix broadcast stations deallocation
On the error path of __il4965_up(), il_dealloc_bcast_stations() clears
only IL_STA_UCODE_ACTIVE, leaving IL_STA_BCAST set. This causes the
same broadcast stations to be deallocated again by __il4965_down().
This can occur when RF_KILL is toggled during driver startup.
To fix clear the entire 'used' field, since we will not do any
other operations on the station. |
| A format string vulnerability in an affected service interface of HPE Networking ClearPass Policy Manager could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to corrupt process memory. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code. |
| A flaw was found in the X.Org X Server and XWayland. An error handling issue in the X Keyboard Extension (XKB) geometry processing fails to clear a memory pointer after an allocation failure, leading to a double-free condition during cleanup. A local user can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted request to the display server. This can cause memory corruption, potentially resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) or arbitrary code execution with elevated privileges. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nvme-rdma: fix -EIO cleanup order in queue_rq
On -EIO, the RDMA queue_rq path reports a host path error and then
still cleans up the command and unmaps the SQE DMA. The path error
helper completes the request, so that is double cleanup and DMA unmap
after the request is already complete.
Unmap the SQE first, then report the host path error. Skip the outer
command cleanup on that path. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
staging: fbtft: make dirty_lock IRQ-safe
fbtft_mkdirty() can be reached from the fbcon rendering path while
processing printk() in hardirq context. Meanwhile, dirty_lock is also
taken by fbtft_deferred_io() in workqueue context with local interrupts
enabled.
Lockdep reports a possible IRQ lock inversion involving dirty_lock and
console_owner. A hardirq can interrupt a CPU holding dirty_lock and
enter the console rendering path, which can attempt to acquire
dirty_lock again.
The following lockdep report was observed on an RK3566 system with
CONFIG_PROVE_LOCKING enabled:
WARNING: possible irq lock inversion dependency detected
swapper/2/0 just changed the state of lock:
(console_owner){-...}-{0:0}
but this lock took another, HARDIRQ-unsafe lock in the past:
(&par->dirty_lock){+.+.}-{2:2}
CPU0 CPU1
---- ----
lock(&par->dirty_lock);
local_irq_disable();
lock(console_owner);
lock(&par->dirty_lock);
<Interrupt>
lock(console_owner);
*** DEADLOCK ***
Use spin_lock_irqsave() for fbtft_mkdirty() and spin_lock_irq() for
fbtft_deferred_io(). They only access the dirty line range, so the
IRQ-off regions remain short. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: caiaq: Fix potential double-free at error path
The fix for caiaq driver's resource management to handle the errors
tries to release the resources in a common destructor call, but as a
sashiko review for another patch suggested, some of the audio
resources such as URBs have been already freed, and this may lead to a
double-free.
For addressing the double-free, call the common destructor function
from each place, and assure that the resource pointers get cleared. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ieee802154: hwsim: serialize pib updates to fix double-free
hwsim_update_pib() does an unserialized read-swap-free of phy->pib:
pib_old = rtnl_dereference(phy->pib);
...
rcu_assign_pointer(phy->pib, pib);
kfree_rcu(pib_old, rcu);
It assumes the RTNL is held, but ->set_channel is not always called
under it: the mac802154 scan worker changes channels via
drv_set_channel() without the RTNL. Such an update can race an
RTNL-held one on the same phy; both read the same pib_old and both
kfree_rcu() it, double-freeing the object. With SLUB percpu sheaves
batching kfree_rcu(), this surfaces as a KASAN invalid-free in
rcu_free_sheaf().
struct hwsim_phy has no lock for pib. Add one and make the swap atomic
with rcu_replace_pointer() under it, dropping the misleading
rtnl_dereference(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: qla2xxx: Null out freed pointers in qla2x00_mem_alloc() error path
When qla2x00_mem_alloc() fails, qla2x00_probe_one() jumps to
probe_hw_failed and calls qla2x00_mem_free(). Several error labels in
qla2x00_mem_alloc() freed adapter members (elsrej.c, purex_dma_pool,
flt, sfp_data, loop_id_map, async_pd, sf_init_cb, ex_init_cb, npiv_info)
but left the pointers dangling. qla2x00_mem_free() then freed them a
second time. Worse, for the dma_pool members it issued
dma_pool_free(ha->s_dma_pool, ...) after s_dma_pool had already been
destroyed and set to NULL at fail_s_dma_pool, dereferencing a NULL pool.
Clear each freed pointer (and its DMA handle) in the error labels so the
subsequent qla2x00_mem_free() skips them. |
| Use of an Externally Controlled Format String in the ASUS Router modules allow a remote authenticated user to execute arbitrary commands via a crafted file uploaded through the web management interface. |
| A flaw was found in CRI-O. The fix for a previous vulnerability (CVE-2022-4318) was incorrect, allowing it to be bypassed. An attacker capable of setting environment variables on a container can inject a newline character into the HOME environment variable. This issue allows the addition of arbitrary lines into /etc/passwd by use of a specially crafted environment variable. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdgpu/ras: add ras_suspend callback and use it for cp_ecc_error_irq
cp_ecc_error_irq is acquired in amdgpu_gfx_ras_late_init() but
released in gfx_v9_0_hw_fini(), so the put site has to query
amdgpu_irq_enabled() because the get is skipped on SR-IOV VF.
ras_late_init / ras_fini have no suspend counterpart, so move the
put to amdgpu_gfx_ras_suspend() / amdgpu_gfx_ras_fini() and add a
matching ras_suspend callback that is invoked from
amdgpu_ras_suspend() before disable_all_features(). The get and
put now sit in the same place and check the same condition (not
VF, funcs registered), no refcount querying needed.
An active flag gates ras_fini so the
suspend-then-unload-without-resume path falls into
amdgpu_ras_block_late_fini_default() instead of double-releasing
what ras_suspend already cleaned up.
Drop the cp_ecc_error_irq put from gfx_v9_0_hw_fini(). gfx_v8_0
manages cp_ecc_error_irq locally and is unaffected; no other GFX
generation has this IRQ. |
| NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Linux contains a vulnerability where a user might be able to cause a format string issue. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, escalation of privileges, data tampering, denial of service, and information disclosure. |
| A format string vulnerability in the API endpoint of HPE Networking Instant ON APs could allow an authenticated remote attacker with high privileges to cause memory corruption with a modified input. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to provoke a denial-of-service condition or remote code execution in the affected system function. |
| Uncontrolled Format string vulnerabilities exist in the affected interface of HPE Networking Instant ON APs that could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to run arbitrary commands on the underlying host. Successful exploitation could result in a Denial-of-service or potential remote code execution. |
| NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Linux contains a vulnerability in the kernel mode layer where an unprivileged user could cause a double-free of imported memory state. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, denial of service, escalation of privileges, information disclosure, and data tampering. |
