CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
x86/alternatives: Exclude text poking against change_page_attr()
From time to time, the following BUG can be observed
in the x86 alternatives patching code [0]:

which matches the following BUG_ON() in alternative.c:
/*
* If something went wrong, crash and burn since recovery paths are not
* implemented.
*/
BUG_ON(!pages[0] || (cross_page_boundary && !pages[1]));
This can happen if vmalloc_to_page() fails, for any reason. Such can happen
if text poking races with CPA, which can possibly result in the collapsing
of page tables (or breaking of PMD hugepages). It is not a problem for most
users of vmalloc_to_page() (they solely own the vmalloc'd range) but, when
CONFIG_ARCH_HAS_EXECMEM_ROX=y, various modules own a single execmem vmalloc
range, and can call set_memory_*() in parallel on it. This can happen to
race against __text_poke and cause havoc in vmalloc_to_page().
Fix it by excluding against CPA using the init_mm mmap read lock.
[ dhansen: Fix up SoB ordering. The actual code flow here was:
Pedro=>Lorenzo=>Mike=>Me which is reflected in the SoB chain
now. I *believe* Mike simply picked up Lorenzo's update to

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
xfs: lock the healthmon when inserting unmount event
LOLLM complains that xfs_healthmon_unmount does an unlocked insert of
the unmount event into the health monitor's event list. Fix that. |
| Time-of-check time-of-use (toctou) race condition in Windows MIDI Service Module allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| The Link Library WordPress plugin before 7.9.6 does not sanitize a user-supplied destination folder before writing a generated image to disk, allowing users with the Contributor role and above to create directories and write or overwrite image files anywhere the web server can write, including outside the site's document root.
The written file name is always numeric with a fixed image extension, so executable code cannot be planted this way. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv6: use RCU iterator to dump route exceptions
rt6_nh_dump_exceptions() uses hlist_for_each_entry() to iterate over
RCU-protected exception lists. The caller holds rcu_read_lock(), but does
not hold rt6_exception_lock, so rt6_insert_exception() can concurrently
add an entry with hlist_add_head_rcu().
KCSAN reports this race (irrelevant details omitted):

Use hlist_for_each_entry_rcu() to safely iterate over the exception list. |
| Paymenter is a free and open-source webshop solution for management of hosting services. Prior to 1.5.7, app/Livewire/Services/Upgrade.php::doUpgrade() relies on Service::upgradable to check for a pending service upgrade and later executes $credit->increment('amount', abs($price)) without DB::transaction or lockForUpdate() spanning those operations. An authenticated customer with an active downgradable service can submit concurrent downgrade requests that each observe no pending upgrade, create separate upgrade records, and increment the same account credit balance, producing multiple spendable refunds for one downgrade. This issue is fixed in version 1.5.7. |
| Concurrent execution using shared resource with improper synchronization ('race condition') in Windows Bluetooth Service allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| Concurrent execution using shared resource with improper synchronization ('race condition') in DNS Server allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network. |
| Concurrent execution using shared resource with improper synchronization ('race condition') in Windows Hello allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| Heap-based buffer overflow in Windows Program Compatibility Assistant Service allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| Absolute path traversal in Microsoft Windows Search Component allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| In multiple functions of alloc.c, there is a possible unauthorized read/write access due to a race condition. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
| Concurrent execution using shared resource with improper synchronization ('race condition') in Windows TCP/IP allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally. |
| FreeRDP is a free implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol. Prior to 3.28.0, an authenticated RDP client can advertise DVI ADPCM with nBlockAlign equal to 8 and nChannels equal to 2 to make the `bs` calculation in rdpsnd_server_select_format in channels/rdpsnd/server/rdpsnd_main.c equal zero. The subsequent out_frames modulo `bs` operation raises SIGFPE and terminates the server-side rdpsnd channel process. This vulnerability fixed in 3.28.0. |
| Concurrent execution using shared resource with improper synchronization ('race condition') in Windows Print Spooler Components allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network. |
| The TIOCSCTTY ioctl handler drops the tty lock in order to acquire the process tree lock. After reacquiring the tty lock, the handler did not revalidate the state of the terminal, and could proceed to link a terminal that was concurrently being destroyed to the calling process' session.
An unprivileged local user can exploit this race condition to escalate privileges. |
| The FIOSSHMLPGCNF ioctl(2) operation configures the page size for a largepage shared memory object. This is intended to be used immediately after creating the object, before any memory is allocated for the object. The handler checked whether a page size had already been configured without holding the rangelock. Two concurrent callers could both observe an unconfigured object and set conflicting page sizes, leaving the object in an inconsistent state.
An unprivileged local user can exploit this race to escalate privileges. |
| Concurrent Execution using Shared Resource with Improper Synchronization ('Race Condition') vulnerability in Apache Tomcat allows an attacker to inject trailer fields into another HTTP/2 request.
This issue affects Apache Tomcat: from 11.0.0-M1 through 11.0.25, from 10.1.0-M1 through 10.1.59, from 9.0.39 through 9.0.121.
The following versions were EOL at the time the CVE was created but are
known to be affected: from 8.5.59 through 8.5.100. Other unsupported versions may also be affected.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 11.0.26, 10.1.60, 9.0.122, which fix the issue. |
