CVSS v3.1 |
| When a protocol selection parameter option disables all protocols without adding any then the default set of protocols would remain in the allowed set due to an error in the logic for removing protocols. The below command would perform a request to curl.se with a plaintext protocol which has been explicitly disabled. curl --proto -all,-http http://curl.se The flaw is only present if the set of selected protocols disables the entire set of available protocols, in itself a command with no practical use and therefore unlikely to be encountered in real situations. The curl security team has thus assessed this to be low severity bug. |
| Exposure of Sensitive Information in Shared Microarchitectural Structures during Transient Execution for some Intel(R) Processors may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable information disclosure via local access. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Squashfs: check the inode number is not the invalid value of zero
Syskiller has produced an out of bounds access in fill_meta_index().
That out of bounds access is ultimately caused because the inode
has an inode number with the invalid value of zero, which was not checked.
The reason this causes the out of bounds access is due to following
sequence of events:
1. Fill_meta_index() is called to allocate (via empty_meta_index())
and fill a metadata index. It however suffers a data read error
and aborts, invalidating the newly returned empty metadata index.
It does this by setting the inode number of the index to zero,
which means unused (zero is not a valid inode number).
2. When fill_meta_index() is subsequently called again on another
read operation, locate_meta_index() returns the previous index
because it matches the inode number of 0. Because this index
has been returned it is expected to have been filled, and because
it hasn't been, an out of bounds access is performed.
This patch adds a sanity check which checks that the inode number
is not zero when the inode is created and returns -EINVAL if it is.

| A flaw was found in the GNU coreutils "split" program. A heap overflow with user-controlled data of multiple hundred bytes in length could occur in the line_bytes_split() function, potentially leading to an application crash and denial of service. |
| A vulnerability was found in GnuTLS. The response times to malformed ciphertexts in RSA-PSK ClientKeyExchange differ from the response times of ciphertexts with correct PKCS#1 v1.5 padding. This issue may allow a remote attacker to perform a timing side-channel attack in the RSA-PSK key exchange, potentially leading to the leakage of sensitive data. CVE-2024-0553 is designated as an incomplete resolution for CVE-2023-5981. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ext4: avoid online resizing failures due to oversized flex bg
When we online resize an ext4 filesystem with a oversized flexbg_size,
mkfs.ext4 -F -G 67108864 $dev -b 4096 100M
mount $dev $dir
resize2fs $dev 16G
the following WARN_ON is triggered:

This is because flexbg_size is too large and the size of the new_group_data
array to be allocated exceeds MAX_ORDER. Currently, the minimum value of
MAX_ORDER is 8, the minimum value of PAGE_SIZE is 4096, the corresponding
maximum number of groups that can be allocated is:
(PAGE_SIZE << MAX_ORDER) / sizeof(struct ext4_new_group_data) ≈ 21845
And the value that is down-aligned to the power of 2 is 16384. Therefore,
this value is defined as MAX_RESIZE_BG, and the number of groups added
each time does not exceed this value during resizing, and is added multiple
times to complete the online resizing. The difference is that the metadata
in a flex_bg may be more dispersed. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
crypto: scomp - fix req->dst buffer overflow
The req->dst buffer size should be checked before copying from the
scomp_scratch->dst to avoid req->dst buffer overflow problem. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
EDAC/thunderx: Fix possible out-of-bounds string access
Enabling -Wstringop-overflow globally exposes a warning for a common bug
in the usage of strncat():
drivers/edac/thunderx_edac.c: In function 'thunderx_ocx_com_threaded_isr':
drivers/edac/thunderx_edac.c:1136:17: error: 'strncat' specified bound 1024 equals destination size [-Werror=stringop-overflow=]
1136 | strncat(msg, other, OCX_MESSAGE_SIZE);
| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
...
1145 | strncat(msg, other, OCX_MESSAGE_SIZE);
...
1150 | strncat(msg, other, OCX_MESSAGE_SIZE);
...
Apparently the author of this driver expected strncat() to behave the
way that strlcat() does, which uses the size of the destination buffer
as its third argument rather than the length of the source buffer. The
result is that there is no check on the size of the allocated buffer.
Change it to strlcat().

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
f2fs: fix to avoid dirent corruption
As Al reported in link[1]:
f2fs_rename()
...
if (old_dir != new_dir && !whiteout)
f2fs_set_link(old_inode, old_dir_entry,
old_dir_page, new_dir);
else
f2fs_put_page(old_dir_page, 0);
You want correct inumber in the ".." link. And cross-directory
rename does move the source to new parent, even if you'd been asked
to leave a whiteout in the old place.
[1] https://lore.kernel.org/all/20231017055040.GN800259@ZenIV/
With below testcase, it may cause dirent corruption, due to it missed
to call f2fs_set_link() to update ".." link to new directory.
- mkdir -p dir/foo
- renameat2 -w dir/foo bar
[ASSERT] (__chk_dots_dentries:1421) --> Bad inode number[0x4] for '..', parent parent ino is [0x3]

| An issue was discovered in drivers/net/ethernet/intel/igb/igb_main.c in the IGB driver in the Linux kernel before 6.5.3. A buffer size may not be adequate for frames larger than the MTU. |
| A security vulnerability in HPE NonStop SNMP Trap Multiplexer may cause memory corruption |
| SODOLA SL902-SWTGW124AS firmware before 200.2.12 contains a buffer overflow vulnerability that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to cause a denial of service by sending an oversized boundary value in the Content-Type header of a crafted POST request. Attackers can exploit the embedded HTTP server's multipart/form-data boundary parser to cause the device to become fully unresponsive — dropping all management access and traffic forwarding during its self-recovery cycle. |
| Godot Engine through 4.7.2 has an out-of-bounds read in the optimized translation loader (core/string/optimized_translation.cpp, OptimizedTranslation::get_message). Offsets read from the hash table of a crafted .translation resource are used as indices into the bucket table without bounds validation; only a single sentinel value is rejected. A crafted file can point an index far past the allocated buffer. Depending on the values, the result is a crash, or a string lookup (tr()) returns raw bytes from elsewhere in the process heap as the translated string, disclosing process memory. The defect is reached when the product or an exported game loads and performs lookups in a crafted translation file. NOTE: the Supplier's position is that the research has identified "no security issues" because the required attacker access is outside of the current Godot Engine threat model. |
| A flaw was found in the IPv4 Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP) classifier in the Linux kernel. The xprt pointer may go beyond the linear part of the skb, leading to an out-of-bounds read in the `rsvp_classify` function. This issue may allow a local user to crash the system and cause a denial of service. |
| An array indexing vulnerability was found in the netfilter subsystem of the Linux kernel. A missing macro could lead to a miscalculation of the `h->nets` array offset, providing attackers with the primitive to arbitrarily increment/decrement a memory buffer out-of-bound. This issue may allow a local user to crash the system or potentially escalate their privileges on the system. |
| Xmlsoft Libxml2 v2.11.0 was discovered to contain an out-of-bounds read via the xmlSAX2StartElement() function at /libxml2/SAX2.c. This vulnerability allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via supplying a crafted XML file. NOTE: the vendor's position is that the product does not support the legacy SAX1 interface with custom callbacks; there is a crash even without crafted input. |
| A flaw was found in the XFRM subsystem in the Linux kernel. The specific flaw exists within the processing of state filters, which can result in a read past the end of an allocated buffer. This flaw allows a local privileged (CAP_NET_ADMIN) attacker to trigger an out-of-bounds read, potentially leading to an information disclosure. |
| A flaw was found in the Netfilter subsystem in the Linux kernel. The sctp_mt_check did not validate the flag_count field. This flaw allows a local privileged (CAP_NET_ADMIN) attacker to trigger an out-of-bounds read, leading to a crash or information disclosure. |
| A flaw was found in the Netfilter subsystem in the Linux kernel. The xt_u32 module did not validate the fields in the xt_u32 structure. This flaw allows a local privileged attacker to trigger an out-of-bounds read by setting the size fields with a value beyond the array boundaries, leading to a crash or information disclosure. |
| A flaw was found in the Netfilter subsystem in the Linux kernel. The nfnl_osf_add_callback function did not validate the user mode controlled opt_num field. This flaw allows a local privileged (CAP_NET_ADMIN) attacker to trigger an out-of-bounds read, leading to a crash or information disclosure. |
